It’s no secret that for a lot of us this isn’t our first rodeo. In fact for none of us is this our first. You probably know where some of us came from and it’s probably also not a shock that we’re damn proud of a lot of the work that we’ve done in the past. As far as AK’s favorite builds go the Ecoboost Pantera is right up near the top and for very good reason.
Much like the Shart Cat before it, the Pantera broke new ground on something never done in the automotive aftermarket before; a stand alone Ecoboost swap had never been successfully achieved in the wild (to our knowledge.)
The inspiration for such an unusual undertaking came directly from Ford’s playbook, take a very capable platform and then stuff a lightweight, tried and tested power plant with it that would feel right at home in the 21st century. The engine would wind up being sourced from an F-150 with a little over 100,000 miles on the clock. We handed the engine off to get built with all shiny, new turbos and then AK went to work fabricating custom headers and exhaust for the Ecoboost.
I could talk about this car and the little details on it until I’m blue in the face, but I’m sure you just want to see the car in action below!
